The update, named GPT-5, is intended to achieve Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and make generative AI indistinguishable from humans. Although there are no AGI models to compare ChatGPT with, GPT-5 is expected to be more functional than its predecessor, GPT-4, and generate results even faster and more accurately while handling more complex tasks. OpenAI may also release an intermediate version of ChatGPT, GPT-4.5, in September or October. However, with the improvement of ChatGPT and its attainment of AGI, its usage may have negative consequences.
